As a member of the US Green Building Council, Access Floor Corp (AFC) recognizes the importance and necessity to take material conservation and building sustainability seriously. With the increased consumption of raw materials, raised awareness of polluted air, and overall wasteful building cycles of the past, it has become critical to take construction design to a new level that will extend Earth’s natural recourses for future generations. Access Flooring is a first step towards achieving this goal. By implementing under‐floor air systems, modular wiring and plug n’ play data cabling, excess construction materials are removed from the building process, while improving air quality and the overall work environment.

Energy & Atmosphere

Prerequisite 2 - Minimum Energy Performance:
Access flooring supports underfloor air distribution, which reduces the size of air handler required and lowers energy costs associated with heating and cooling interior spaces.

EA Credit 1.1 - Reduced Design Energy Cost by 20% / 10%
EA Credit 1.2 - Reduced Design Energy Cost by 30% / 20%
EA Credit 1.3 - Reduced Design Energy Cost by 40% / 30%
